(Special Edition) Spartan-Rōnin Shintō Blade
FDE: SOLD OUT
The U.S. Army Special Forces “Green Beret” mission requires the “A-Teams” to not just operate but also survive in some of the most extreme conditions in the world. During my time with the “A-Teams” I have worked and survived in some of the most extreme environments. While working with foreign military and rebel forces, I have seen many foreign weapons, therefore when I look at a blade, I understand the requirements needed out of a blade base off its geometry, material and sharpness required from a versatile tactical blade. When picking a combat style blade, the blade needs to be balanced for speed for fighting with the geometry needed to still hack, chop and build things to survive. Working with my ex-teammates Curtis and Mark (Co-Founder of Spartan Blades), we’ve designed the Spartan -Rōnin Shintō Blade. The blade was named for "The warrior in whom the old ways have joined the new." The Shintō is 5 5/8” in length with a 3/16” thickness in blade along with its recurved body and thick forward mass allows for a chopping and hacking geometry needed out of a survival style blade. The blades full tang allows for weight and balance needed to counter balance the forward mass on the blade. This balance in weight is needed out of a fighting style blade. Working with my ex-teammates, the Shintō blade design and geometry were influenced by Curtis Lovito and Mark Carey Co-Owners of Spartan Blades. I have personally worked alongside these two former Green Berets therefore the Shintō design came from many years of operational experience.
In collaboration with Spartan Blades we were able to release our (Special Edition) Spartan-Ronin Shinto Blade with leather sheath. A little history is during my time serving as an Assaulter with the Special Forces Combatant Commanders In-extremis Forces (CIF) in Okinawa, Japan. Mark Carey and Curtis Iovito were senior CIF Snipers when I first arrived at this specialized company. They were my former teammates and personal friends to me even to this day. It was a great honor to work with Spartan Blades on the release of our (Special Edition) Spartan Ronin Shinto Blade with leather sheath. This blade holds personal meaning to me as it symbolizes my path from the Special Forces (A-Teams) to my path now as a Ronin. This blade has much meaning and is deeply rooted into my time with the Special Forces.
