This will be a two series class. The first class (9 Mar 2019) will feed onto the tactics of the second class (23 Mar 2019) The second class will be more advanced in the application of reverse grip and close quarters.
Ronin “Blade Tactics” Seminar (Colorado Springs, CO- 9 Mar 2019)
Primary Instructor- Tu Lam (Former Special Forces- Green Beret)
This is a 3 hr block of instruction for Beginner to Medium skill level edge weapons course. (THIS COURSE WILL FOCUS ON THE SABER GRIP POSITION OR NORMAL GRIP) Students will be taught the effective use of a ring blade at extreme close range while under stress. Edge weapons course will cover basic hand to hand, Footwork, Lines of Attack, anatomy, effective blade placement and the capability and limitations of the ring blade. Students can either bring a ring blade or one will be provided for training at the seminar.

Edge weapon attacks, leading to death and serious injuries is a growing concern for our law abiding citizens, law enforcement officers and military. According a report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, in 2017, there were four times more blade attacks than rifle. During my time spent in the Special Forces, I have seen blades claim countless lives. Guns are effective weapons from a long range, but when faced with closer encounters, the firearm becomes a one directional weapon. A blade can never have a mechanical malfunction, and in the proper hands, the blade becomes an equalizer. This gives someone with lesser strength and power a fighting chance.
